The Supplier Quality Supervisor plays a key role in proactively managing supply chain risk through the assessment of suppliers, third party manufacturers (3PMs), tollers, third party logistics (3PLs), etc. to support our manufacturing plants. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Site Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Procurement, and Business Management to ensure efficient support of both existing and new innovations within the product portfolio. This role will be based out of Innophos Taicang offices, with audit travel required within China and greater Asia. This role reports to the Supplier Quality Manager based in the United States.
• Execute the qualification of suppliers of raw materials, including Packaging or external service provider that may include conducting second party (customer) audits of Suppliers, 3PMs, 3PLs and Toller's facilities based on risk.
• Support the risk assessment of new raw materials and suppliers for New Product Development, including Hazard Analysis, Economically Motivated Adulteration (EMA) and assessment of appropriate control measures.
• Partner with the Procurement Department to manage supplier relationships from a quality perspective, including innovation and development of improved sourcing practices.
• Understand the industry, agricultural, process, and regional influences on quality and food safety.
• Perform second party audits and evaluate third party audits contracted on behalf of Innophos.
• Work on the resolution of supplier non-compliance and/or complaints from a quality perspective, working through the Procurement, Logistics, Technical Service, and Operations teams to validate corrective action from suppliers and tollers. (Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs), Corrective And Preventive Actions (CAPAs), etc.).
• Effectively communicate with applicable team members to ensure the quality organization objectives and standards are understood, including completing training of non-quality employees on supplier quality process.
• Responsible for the following metrics related to strategic procurement and Supply Chain, as applicable:
o Supplier, Tollers, 3PM, Contract Packers, second-party and third-party quality audit results and CAPA completion.
o Maintenance of supplier certifications and quality documentation.
o Supplier issue facilitation and timely resolution of SCARs & CAPAs.
o Support new supplier RFI and section process to maintain upstream supplier vetting.
o Support supplier capacity expansion efforts through the execution of our qualification process.
Support supplier performance reviews by providing data on compliance trends, supplier transparency, responsiveness, etc.

• Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards, and safety requirements directed by Innophos and the department.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.

• Proactively attempts to prevent all accidents and eliminate all unsafe conditions.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Experiences: (essential to the position)
• Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related life science; Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of Quality Auditing within Food and Beverage, Dietary Ingredients, or similar industry. At least 2 years of Supplier Quality Management preferred.
• Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification required.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English.
• HACCP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge in the areas of: Quality Management Systems and Auditing Schemes (Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.), food regulations (Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP)), and microbiology.
• Knowledge of the FDA regulation 21 CFR 111 and/or 21 CFR 117
• Training in Food Defense Plans.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving training & skills
• Good Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Able to build trend analysis, charts, reports.
• Ability to work in a collaborative way.
• Ability to join web calls with team members on the East Coast of the USA 1-2 times/week.
Environment and/or Physical Factors:
• Work is generally performed within an office environment, with a high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.
• Other physical requirements include the ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time walking, climbing stairs, and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting required during on-site audits.
• Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, steel toes, and facemask
• Travel requirements 20-40%, travel may fluctuate higher than 40% at times.
