工作描述:
Strategy & Planning
1. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
2. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Acquisition & Deployment
3. Design and deploy County LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
4. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
5. Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
6. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
7. Design, implement, and maintain VOIP phone system to include phone servers, phones, and faxes
8. Design, implement, and maintain Audio/Video systems
Operational Management
9. Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling County objectives and processes.
10. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
11. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
12. Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
13. Manage servers, including database, e-mail, printers, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
14. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
15. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
16. Participate in managing all network security solutions.
17. Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
2. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
3. Proven experience with VOIP phone systems.
4. Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
5. Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
6. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
7. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
8. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
9. Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
10. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
11. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
12. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
13. Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
14. Strong customer service orientation.
15. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
16. The Network Engineer will have a bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience, an associate’s degree with 6 years of related experience, or 8 years related experience.
