1. Participate in product launches to ensure a smooth transition from design and launch phases into manufacturing. Develop Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA’s) to identify and minimize any potential issues.
2. Work with supplier to build new equipment or process improvements, design and specification of equipment and standardization of equipment within manufacturing methods and safety requirements.
3. Design and manage new equipment process development, timing, setup, debug and training.
4. Work with manufacturing, engineering, and quality to setup SPC files for new products/processes or executes changes to existing ones.
5. To become the Mechanical Expert. Primary contact for Manufacturing, regarding equipment and process issues, including (but not limited to) equipment downtime, safety and production of nonconforming product.
6. Must be knowledgeable in the effective use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements, both within Lydall, and externally at our customers/suppliers. Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement
7. Must adhere to all company policies and safety rules.
8. Realization of production equipment until series production including technical changes during the series process.
9. Continuous improvement of existing assembly lines as well as in the development of new ones.
10. Coordination of production-oriented product and process design.

Specific duties and responsibilities:
1. Preparation of concepts calculations during the acquisition of projects.
2. Create detail Specification of the equipment.
3. Simultaneous Engineering with the development and customer teams of the business division in order to get easy and cost-efficient manufacturable products.
4. Investigate and provide detailed assembly concepts (standardization requirement) for production in collaboration with the local team, the plant for customer-specified products.
5. Ensure the quality requirements through the use of methods like P-FMEA, Poka-Yoke, Capability studies
6. Create the timing plan and coordinate the activities with all interfacing functions.
7. Maintain continuous communication with internal and external customers to dress requirement and concerns (customer change requests, quotations, quality items...). Handle customer concerns (related to IE) and ensure immediate solution and execution of issues.
8. Create the specifications, related to the released concept. Focus on dependencies within the processes and the
cycle time balancing and follow the design and manufacturing of the equipment with external suppliers/vendors.
9. Install and launch the equipment and handover the equipment to the production plant after completion of all project requirements.
10. Evaluation and implementation of technical modifications during the project and the serial phases, either due to innovations and improvements of the processes or due to product and/or condition changes (volumes, variants).
